EU Pledges Rs. 350 Million in Emergency Aid for Pakistan’s Flood Victims

The European Union (EU) has announced emergency humanitarian assistance worth €1.05 million (Rs. 350 million) to support Pakistan as the nation battles catastrophic flash floods that have claimed hundreds of lives and displaced millions.

The aid, to be delivered through trusted humanitarian partners, will focus on:

Providing life-saving healthcare services

Ensuring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) to curb disease outbreaks

Offering cash assistance to help vulnerable families meet essential needs

Expressing solidarity, the EU extended its condolences to the families affected, reaffirming its commitment to stand with Pakistan during this crisis.

This announcement comes alongside recent pledges from other international institutions, including $3 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and $0.6 million from the United Nations, aimed at strengthening relief efforts for flood-hit communities.
