Pakistan Launches Digital Land & Passport Services in UK for Overseas Community

Pakistan has rolled out Digital Land and Passport Services in the UK, a landmark step aimed at empowering the Pakistani diaspora with faster, safer, and smarter access to essential services. The initiative was inaugurated at the Pakistan High Commission in London by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

The new system offers blockchain-secured land record access—including online sale deeds, Fard (Record of Rights), e-Girdawari, mutation entries, and document attestation—ensuring transparency and protection against fraud. A dedicated Land Services Desk has been set up at the High Commission to support the pilot phase.

Alongside land services, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (IMPASS) has introduced a one-window passport processing counter, reducing the entire procedure to nearly 10 minutes per applicant, eliminating delays and streamlining services for overseas Pakistanis.

Calling it a “digital leap for public service delivery,” Senator Dar highlighted the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Punjab Land Revenue Authority (PLRA), NADRA, and the High Commission. He said the project not only safeguards diaspora property rights but also strengthens their connection with Pakistan.

During the launch, Dar also engaged with British MPs of Pakistani origin, stressing how the diaspora plays a vital role in advocacy, particularly on human rights issues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

With this move, Pakistan has taken a major stride in modernizing services for its overseas citizens, making property and identity management faster, safer, and closer to home.
