Pakistan, China Chart Roadmap for CPEC Phase-II

At the 14th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting, Pakistan and China finalized an ambitious roadmap for CPEC Phase-II, focusing on industrial growth, infrastructure, agriculture, technology, and regional connectivity.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the plan aligns with Pakistan’s “5Es” strategy and introduces five new corridors: growth, innovation, green, livelihood, and regional connectivity. Key projects include upgrades to the ML-1 railway, Karakoram Highway realignment, new highways, and Gwadar development.

The roadmap also emphasizes youth training, technology cooperation, and export access to China, alongside strong commitments to security. Phase I achievements—over 8,000MW energy capacity and 888 km of highways—were also highlighted.
