UAE Introduces Minimum Salary Rule for Visit Visa Sponsorship
Dubai, Sept 30, 2025 — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has revised its visit visa policy by setting minimum salary requirements for residents sponsoring visitors. According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), residents must earn at least AED 4,000 per month to sponsor immediate family, AED 8,000 for second- and third-degree relatives, and AED 15,000 to sponsor friends. The updated framework also introduces four new visit visa categories—covering AI specialists, entertainment, event participation, and cruise tourism—while adding provisions for humanitarian residence permits, business exploration visas, and easier residency options for widows or divorcees. Officials said the reforms aim to increase transparency, attract skilled talent, and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for tourism and business.
